FC Durham Academy is a premier soccer academy in Durham, Ontario, committed to developing young athletes through elite training, competitive leagues, and showcase events. Position Details
As part of the Academy’s focus on player development, the FCD Player Pathway serves as the Club’s Grassroots Development Program, with a strict curriculum designed for long-term success.
The program operates year-round and provides U8–U13 players with access to standards-based District Level Competition and Training (Durham Region and GTA). Grassroots players train and compete in both indoor and outdoor seasons, with training sessions scheduled two (2) to three (3) times per week.
The Head Coach will be primarily responsible for leading the ongoing implementation of the FCD Club Curriculum, in alignment with Canada Soccer’s Long-Term Player Development (LTPD) model.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Provide technical coaching to assigned grassroots teams in accordance with the FCD philosophy and technical plan.

Plan and execute all training sessions in line with the FCD Game Model, Technical Habits, and Training Methodology.

Lead teams in all competitions (league and tournament play).

Maintain consistent communication with Club Directors regarding player and team development.

Ensure accurate records are kept to track and evaluate player progress.
Experience
-
Previous experience working in grassroots soccer (U8–U12).

Experience implementing curricula as part of a team.

Experience in creating technical resources (session plans, player reports, etc.).
Training & Certification

U8 (Fundamentals Certificate) – minimum requirement.

U9–U12 (Learn to Train Certificate) – minimum requirement.
